Olympic Rowing Lake Bridges

Enhancement works to the existing world-class rowing facilities including two new composite road bridges.

Three bridges were constructed in situ concrete with a profiled finish that echoes the look of a traditional racing boat: to achieve this effect, the formwork was lined with shiplap boarding. Inclined hollow steel struts provide additional support and these, along with the end bays of the bridges, are founded on concrete abutments.

Subsequent work involved replacing the finish line bridge with a curvilinear landmark steel bridge spanning 55m across the return lake.
